Getting to grips with employment programmes, the Talent Match London way!

On Thursday 8 October, Talent Match London partnered with ERSA (Employment Relations Service Association) to deliver our first external learning event!

The seminar titled, What would a good employment programme look like for young people and employers?, was part of ERSA’s Getting to Grips seminar series, a series aimed at sharing best practice approaches for employment support providers. The Talent Match London seminar proved very popular and had the highest attendance record for any Getting to Grips seminar!

In typical Talent Match London style much of the seminar was delivered by Talent Match London’s youth board, who gave their tips on what makes a good youth employment programme and helped practitioners with the interactive activity. Talent Match London youth board member Jody kicked off the seminar with a presentation on Talent Match London and our values and successes. Audience members were also treated to a very special preview of the Talent Match London youth board’s Journey of Change animation.

Following Jody’s impressive presentation, Head of Talent Match London Steph, explained the programme’s strategic learning and then Talent Match London’s Communication and Policy Officer, Ornella delivered the group activity.

The seminar received much praise from delegates who came from a range of sectors including the housing and the voluntary sector. After the seminar many delegates requested more information on Talent Match London, including ERSA representatives who were keen to use the learnings from Talent Match London to shape their own agenda on employment services.

Commenting on the success of the event,  long standing Talent Match London youth board member Francis said, “It was great to see so many different organisation come together to learn and share best practice”.

Talent Match London youth board member Cassie was equally impressed with how the seminar went adding, “I feel really positive that everyone who attended, left with a better understand and a real admiration of the principals of  Talent Match London!”
