The London Connect, a new kind of career fair!

Young people and employers gathered at Dalston Roof Park Gardens on Monday night for a careers fair like no other.

The London Connect organised by Talent Match London scouts and creative agency Vividly Creative, provided the perfect atmosphere for young people to network with employers and find out about the different career options available to them in the commercial and creative industries. Beyond the usual career fair features the evening had live performances, including a DJ set from Ruff N Tuff, tasty food, a motivational speaker and ice breaker games. Rinse FM Breakfast presenter and blogger Yinka Bokinni was on hand to guide the audience through the jam packed evening and introduce the special guests.

The main event in this unconventional career event was the Employer Pitch, which put employers in the hot seat. Each employer was given 5mins to pitch their company and convince the audience that they were the company to work for.  Young people could also network with employers at career stands and find out about current work opportunities and apprenticeships.

Some members of the Talent Match London Youth Advisory board came out to show their support and hear more about the opportunities on offer. Youth advisory board member Jody was particular impressed with the event adding, “The event came together really well and just delivered for young people. It was amazing that so many (young people) turned up in the rain”.

Fresh, innovative and well executed, The London Connect sponsored by Talent Match London and Bootstrap Campus gave young Londoners a new kind of career fair experience!
